THE PROCESS.
STEP 1 – Understanding Your Needs
We’ll start by discussing your circumstances, priorities, and goals so I can understand exactly what you need from your remortgage. I’ll identify the most suitable solution for your situation and provide clear information to make the process as simple and stress-free as possible.
STEP 2 – Finding the Right Deal
After reviewing the whole of the UK mortgage market, I’ll recommend the most cost-effective and suitable deal based on your priorities. I’ll then submit your application and handle all communication with the lender on your behalf.
STEP 3 – Valuation & Solicitor Selection
I’ll work with your lender to arrange your mortgage valuation. This could be a visit from a surveyor or a digital (automated) valuation where no one needs to attend your home. We’ll also decide which solicitor will handle your remortgage — either one chosen by your lender or one you appoint yourself. I’ll guide you through this decision and support you throughout.
STEP 4 – Your Mortgage Offer
I’ll be in touch with the great news that your lender has issued your mortgage offer. We’ll review it together to make sure you’re happy with everything. Copies will be sent to both you and your solicitor.
STEP 5 – Solicitor Paperwork
Your solicitor will need some documents and completed forms from you. This may include a short online form, a declaration to proceed, a signed and witnessed mortgage deed, proof of identity and address, and possibly recent bank statements. I’ll be here to help at every step if you have questions or need guidance.
STEP 6 – Completion
Your solicitor will receive the mortgage funds from your new lender and use them to repay your existing mortgage. If you’ve raised additional funds, they’ll transfer the cash to your nominated bank account. You’ll then begin making monthly payments to your new lender — and your remortgage is complete.
